Real Weddings

I am a wedding photographer with a photojournalistic + editorial approach covering weddings in Edinburgh and beyond. I’d also love to travel with you wherever you are.

I was so excited to finally do an urban wedding! The 2015 wedding season has been everywhere around Gjøvik, my recent countryside hometown, where lakes and forests dominate the landscape. This October wedding was in the heart of Oslo, and the extremely sporty couple had their wedding in Gamle Aker Church, photo shoot at St. Hans-haugen, and reception at a sports stadium, Bislett. What fun!

I was honoured to photograph Rikke & Simen’s elegant and classy wedding on this rainy september day. Of course, like always, the skies cleared for our photo shoot, but the day was looking pretty grey and dark in the early hours. Anyways, this wasn’t going to discourage this incredibly happy couple and their guests from having the best day ever!

This day was packed with elegance and pretty shiny details. I loved capturing Lisa and Tor Kristian’s big day in Gjøvik and at Sigstad Gård. The shoot we did at Mustad Næringspark was great, but I just loved that we had a few minutes to photograph later in the evening, during the golden hour. Even though we didn’t have much time, and the skies were cloudy, we managed to get some golden moments.

This wedding turned out to be a real dream. I didn’t realize that this wonderful couple had put so much effort into making the wedding as awesome as it turned out! I loved everything from the hotel prep session to the humanitarian barn ceremony and the honesty and raw emotions expressed, the details with milk jars and straws, and the hilarious end of dinner speech – I just couldn’t hold my tears back! Which says a lot as I average 200 speeches a year. You heard right – I had to count again after calculating this, but it’s matter of fact! Norwegian tradition is on average 8-12 speeches a wedding.
