Wedding at Aikwood Tower

Photographing a wedding at Aikwood Tower was a new one! I was so excited after being on the phone with Theresa and Erik after their pre-booking meeting. No only because they’d chosen a unique castle venue (fave!), but Erik is Norwegian and Theresa Canadian, and they were both excited to hear I could contribute with both their native languages on the wedding day! Plus they were bringing their dog, so obviously that’s a big plus! If you didn’t already know I’m Norwegian originally, have a look at the about Inga page!

I’ve not been to this amazing castle venue in the Scottish Borders before, and I loved it! It was a very wet and rainy day, but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit! Aikwood Tower is perfect for a smaller wedding of around 50 guest, and it’s quite modern and redone inside, while still looking like an authentic castle on the outside. The grounds are lovely, and perfect for a first look hidden between the orchard and an amazing wisteria archway. The modern glass-fronted dining area looked gorgeous all done up with greenery and lanterns.

I would love to be back photographing a wedding at Aikwood Tower soon! Please let me know if you’re planning a wedding there in the nearest future. Have a look at the photos below for inspiration and scroll all the way down for some vendor links!
