Real wedding at Mansfield Traquair, Edinburgh

From London to Mansfield Traquair, Edinburgh

Tom & Jen live in London but Jen originally is from Scotland. They wanted to gather their family and friends for a city centre wedding at the stunning Mansfield Traquair in Edinburgh. From start to finish, this wedding was so stylish! I love that Jen rented a spacious AirBnB flat in Corstorphine to get ready in. The bright and airy space, muted colour scheme and artsy decorations fit right in with the final gallery. Renting a bright, beautiful space for bridal preparations make for beautiful portraits too. Definitely something to consider if you’re planning your wedding!

Benefits of a City Centre Wedding

Getting married in a city has many benefits. It’s super easy for guests to travel there and to book rooms near the venue for walking home in the evening. It has that city-buzz that will inevitably get you excited and nervous in equal measures too! Edinburgh is becoming increasingly popular for modern “melting-pot” weddings as well. Many of my couples are from different parts of the world (or the UK). No-one can resist a long weekend in this epitome of medieval history.

I absolutely love a city centre wedding and I never run out of new and unique places to photograph couples. Even in the busiest of places! Tom, Jen and I just went for a quick ride to Circus Lane for their portraits. It’s just minutes away from Mansfield Traquair. We were toying with the idea of visiting Calton Hill, but why spend so much time away from guests? Even though Circus Lane is a popular street for wedding photographers, it’s not as widely known for tourists and we had the streets almost to ourselves. It’s a beautiful street, but we had to be considerate of its residents!

I’ve photographed a wedding at Mansfield Traquair in December 2017 too! You can see the December wedding I photographed at Mansfield Traquair by clicking here.

Edinburgh Wedding Suppliers

Lastly, let me mention the wedding suppliers that helped make this wedding day absolutely chic and classy. Monique Lhuilier dress bought from Browns Bride London, tuxedo from Hackett London, dainty, adorable wedding shoes by Bella Belle Shoes, stunning floral styling and bouquets by Planet Flowers, and cake from Liggy’s. Let’s not forget Louise Marshall who rocked everyone with her bagpiping!

Best of all? Tom & Jen’s feedback after viewing their full gallery! Made me smile and get all emotional. It just means so much to me to know that my photos are loved. Here’s the email I got from them.
