Adding variety to your gallery with an evening or sunset shoot

June 17, 2020

I take all my couples out for a mini-shoot when the sun is low, granted the weather is good! But no matter what the weather holds, I love taking evening photos. In this blogpost I write about why your should consider being flexible and trust me when I ask to take you away for just a few minutes on the evening of your wedding day.

The hour before sunset is my favourite time of day

That hour before sunset is amazing for a few reasons. The light is gorgeous, you’re much more relaxed and maybe even buzzing, and it can be a good time for a wee getaway. But even if there’s good weather or not, an evening shoot allows for a break and space for you. You can have a breather, and be together maybe just 15 minutes to let everything sink in.

Being flexible and a bit spontaneous on your day can give us the best result

I can recommend a time before your day for this so you can add it to your timeline, but it’s best to be flexible so that I can just grab you and jump out when the light is perfect. If we’re taking evening photos inside, I can make it work with your specific timeline or the way your day has unfolded. The point is, if you’re up for an evening shoot and you’re a bit flexible (and trust me), then that will add so much more variety to you gallery – in addition to being a welcomed break for you as newlyweds!
