Stuck, and need location inspiration for your pre-wedding shoot? The task of choosing a photoshoot location can be a bit daunting. To me, it doesn’t really matter where we go, but it’s always exciting to go somewhere new. I rarely use the same location twice, and often urge you to think about what kind of photos you’d like. Of course, if you’re stuck and want my creative input, I’m here to just pull the trigger and tell you where to show up!

Some suggestions for engagement shoot locations in Edinburgh are Holyrood Park, The Royal Mile, The National Museum, Calton Hill, Blackford Hill, Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, Cramond Village and Beach, Portobello Beach, South Queensferry and Bangour Village. It can be helpful to look at some full photo series from pre-wedding shoot when looking for location inspiration for pre-wedding shoots. That way you can see the full range of what’s possible in just one location.

Here are some examples of photoshoots I’ve done recently: Sunset Photoshoot in EdinburghAt Home Pre-Wedding Shoot in EdinburghEngagement Shoot in St Andrews. And a very epic pre-wedding shoot from Glencoe that was featured on the We Fell In Love wedding blog.

Pre-wedding shoot in the comfort of your own home

Any home will do! But if you have large rooms and lots of natural light that will work best. We can get some really cute and unique photos from your flat if you’re up for getting a little bit intimate (Naturally, I’ll have to be a bit close to you due to the average size of rooms in Scottish houses).

Epic scenery locations for your pre-wedding shoot

Some of the suggestions above point to some epic locations in and around Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland. I love the various scenic spots in Holyrood park for my shoots, and often we can find some quiet spots as well. The Scottish coastline has lots of amazing spots, and if this is something you envision for your shoot (in addition to more intimate shots, of course) then I’ll help find some epic locations for you!

In a place that has significance to you as a couple

A park near your home, your parent’s garden, the walk you went that time he proposed, or the hotel where you first met. There are lots of reasons why you’d want to choose a location that has significance to you as a couple. It can also be easier to relax in a spot that brings back all the feels! It doesn’t have to be fancy or epic, as long as it’s a place you love.

Just a convenient location or in your neighbourhood

Like I said, I can work with anything. If you’re busy and don’t want a long commute for our shoot, or in fact, your neighbourhood is important to you – then let’s just stay right there!

No matter if you’re in Scotland or Norway, there’s a spot near you we can use to get lovely photos. There’s also amazing scenery near my home in Norway. Why not go to this place? It’s just an hour hike from the road. Are you with me? This photo was taken on my iPhone – I’ll bring a proper camera if you want to go there with me!
